All the styles above of the Unitron North 800 contain the same technological features just wrapped up in different packages to suit your level of hearing loss, lifestyle and personal preference. The 800 version is the premium (second from) top level providing excellent hearing within the North range of hearing aids. It still has 20 frequency channels like the flagship Unitron North Pro.
It's stand out features are SoundNav & SpeechZone 1 (Good but not as good as the improved SpeechZone 2 found in the Unitron North Pro model. SoundNav in the Unitron North 800 model identifies and classifies 6 different environments each with their own varying degrees of background noise reduction to improve conversation clarity. If there is no conversation, SoundNav determines whether it is a noisy or quiet environment. It also gives music binaural, exclusive treatment to enhance music enjoyment (only available in Pro & 800 models).
SpeechZone 1, which is only available in the 800 model, is optimised to work with the SoundNav and takes focusing on conversations to the next level. The improved Speech Zone 2 is exclusively in the Unitron North Pro and there is no SpeechZone available in any of the lower models. It automatically engages in difficult background noise, pinpointing speech coming from 360 degrees around you.
Sound Conductor is in all Unitron North Hearing Aids but uses the additional information from SoundNav (Pro, 800, 700, 600, & 500) and SpeechZone (Pro & 800) to dynamically balance the appropriate features providing speech understanding and comfort while maintaining natural sound quality.
Also worth noting, at the time of writing, all Unitron North Hearing Aids have a 101dB dynamic range which is the best in the industry. It basically means there is less distortion so even sounds like music remain pure and clear.
In The Hearing Lab's opinion, for the extra £100, go Pro for the extra automatic sound environment classifier and the excellent SpeechZone 2 to give you the best advantage in previously difficult noisy places.
